New Background for Glory Hounds! (ISSUE #6) - 09.05.2026

Issue #6 of Glory Hounds (Blood In The Water) just went public 2 hours ago as of writing this and I thought it'd be cool to dump the concept art and drafts as I normally do, since it's my job :0
I wanted take more inspiration and reference from Amsterdam, seeing as I had been in-person last year upon visiting and hanging out with Redd and Sabrewolf. I got to take tons of photos and images of the architecture and life during the entire week and really wanted to hone in on putting that experience into the future pieces especially of the city of Schippersburg where the story takes place in.

Building the scene:
Thumbnails (Left to Right, Top to Bottom)
Starting by building the Scene, I did a default sort of front-facing view like more standard Visual Novel Backgrounds have which Redd Ultimately Picked, but I wanted to also give the viewer a sense of scale with the other backgrounds, especially the bottom-top angles, and even a dynamic, Dutch angle (haha) for experimentation. As always, I intended on grounding the viewer if need be, alongside that sense of scale I was talking about when it comes to the size of the district, and accommodating the various species and sizes of the animals in the world.
Ideation!
Some warmups/Visual concepts taken from my travels, referencing the many buildings, signs, sights and scenes in Amsterdam, including some implemented ideas that might or might not be used for future Backgrounds if it's not in it's current update. I also wanted to play around with the minimalist and possibly "Idealised" look that you get of The Netherlands especially with the food establishments (snackmuur my Beloved).
